ROUTE 1069 RV PARK ABOUT US

Wow, what a first year we've had!! We've met lots and lots of very nice people from near and far. We've had may BBQ's, potluck lunches and dinners along with afternoons and evenings of music and Karaoke. We've even had a few cool evenings by the outside fire pit, roasting hot dogs and enjoying each other's company. Don't want to forget to mention our competitive sports that took place, corn hole, horshoes and billiards. No matter how much we mentioned there will be something missed. The park has truly been blessed with all who showed up to make our first year such and enjoyable success and we look forward to more wonderful times.

Still working toward many improvements. We currently have our recreation hall closed for renovations. We are expanding the living area of our hall as well as incorporating climate control (AC!), kitchen facilities, comfort facilities and an allover interior revamp. This renovation will not be complete for a few months, but we hope to have it open for limited use in a few weeks. We are truly sorry for this inconvenience, but we think your over all visit with us will be much improved.

As our theme is that of a stop along the "U.S. Mother Road" (US Route 66), the recreation hall will be decorated fitting the mood of this era and will have eight wall exhibits displaying the history of the roadway through the eight states it traversed from east to west (Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California). We also hope to have our business sign updated depicting the glorious days of flashing lights and neon.

Still on the table is the incorporation of a swimming pool, hot tub, kiddie pool and play ground area. As well we are working to improve our roads and lighting facilities for your complete pleasure and safety.

We currently have 32 RV sites, which include cable TV, WIFI Internet access, water and sewer with registration. Day rates include electricity, while weekly and monthly stays have metered electric power. All of our sites provide 30-amp electric service with five (5) of these sites supplying 50-amp service, as well. The 50-amp sites area all pull through sites accommodating rigs up to 60-feet in length.

The park is serviced by Texas FM 1069 (Market Street), which is a double lane, left turn center land highway very friendly to big rig vehicles. The park currently has gravel type roadways (clear to 14-feet clearance), which we strive to maintain level and smooth. However, one of our top priorities is to widen and pave our park roads in order to accommodate large Class "A" motor homes.

Texas FM 1069 (Market Street) is a main artery into the heart of Rockport. Our park is situated approximately one-half mile from the historic downtown area. Most area shops, discount stores, grocery stores are within 3 miles of the park. Also within this distance is Rockport's beautiful coastline, which holds some of the best fishing in Texas. We also have two of the largest full service RV dealer/repair shops located on FM 1069, just down the street.

There are a lot of fine RV parks in the area and we plan to be one of them. We are a park of transition and suggestion and would appreciate you staying with us and leaving us with your comments (good and bad) and suggestions on how we may better serve the Texas traveler. We expect our transition to completion to take about two years, so please come back often and watch us grow.

Route 1069 RV Park under the direction and management of Debora Penland and Joseph Lenertz, is catered toward the visitor of our fantastic town. Whether the visitor is one to escape the cold of the north or to fish and hunt the wonderful Texas coastland or to just take in the Texas sun in southern comfort, one is sure to enjoy.

Thank you,

ROUTE 1069 RV Park

Our beloved definition of a park: A protected area, in its natural state of semi-natural state, or planted and set aside for human recreation and enjoyment, or for the protection of wildlife or natural habitats. It may consist of rocks, soil, water, flora and fauna and grass areas.
